I got turned onto these a few years ago.

They are not for the thin-waisted only eat a salad wannabe waifs.
This sandwich is for those of you NOT afraid of calories, nor artery clogging.
(I like this bread for this sandwich, - it says fat free- that makes me laugh, knowing what I'm about to do to it.)
Ingredients:
Bread
Bacon
Peanut butter
Preparation:
Toast Bread (lightly)
Slather both pieces of bread with peanut butter
Layer in (at least) six slices of cooked bacon
well you know the rest...
eat.
follow ...
with a large ice cold glass of milk.

That looks so good! I just had a pb&j with bacon sandwich this morning. I like how the pb melts all over the warm bacon. The sweet strawberry jam went surprisingly well with it.

I always substituted peanut butter for mayo on BLTs when I was a kid. I forgot how good that combo is.

Susan, if I had a formula for glistening bacon I'd share it. Was the image tweaked using PSP you bet it was. Little noise reduction, contrast adjustment, etc...

I've always had my bacon and pb with sliced tomato and a grind of black pepper. Kinda tastes like a satay sandwich. Damn, 20 mins since breakfast and I'm already hungry again.....
Emma this was a whole new ballgame of indulgence for me. Wish I'd have eaten when I was a kid!

In my youth, I spent my summers as a counsellor at a canoe tripping camp. We made these every morning on trip because they're delicious, easy, the kids loved them and they fuel you all the way to lunch. Thanks for the memories
