I like surprises...

~I like them a lot.
~I'm comfortable not knowing...
in most situations.
~I like things uncomplicated.
~Entanglements make me think of spider webs.
~Beautiful. Sticky. Fragile.
But always messy when you walk into them
~I like spiderwebs, I don't like entanglements.
how's that for contradiction?

So on the subject of not knowing. On the subject of SURPRISES...
How grand is this? Brother Joshy says to me today, you're still free for next week right?
I'm thinking what did I commit to and forgot? Yes I'm free next week.
He says okay for at least one over night?
Sure. Is it camping season already? Cos I'm still seein snow.

I always say, I remain on a need to know basis and you'll let me know when I need to know.
Joshy remembers this. He says.....You're on a need to know basis and you don't need to know...yet.
BTW I'm too lazy for quotation marks. 50 questions later, I still know nothing, except, it may involve
border crossing, I suspect state not country, he has no passport.
He said he'll tell me what to pack next week.
I asked how far. He says far. more smartass remarks back and forth.
I asked are we flying or driving. He says I haven't decided.
I think we're driving.
I really really like surprises.
I really really like people who take the bull by the horns.
Joshy when we first started hanging out, had to plan everything
and if it wasn't planned it totally messed him up.
I like to fly by the seat of my pants.
Ha, this surprise trip..he gets to plan,
and I get to do what I do best... fly into the unknown.

Sooooooooooo NEXT WEEK I GOT A BIG SURPRISE to look forward to.
Yay, I say!

I've done well teaching him how to do the unplanned.
This last Sunday he calls from town, and wants to spur of the moment head to Bellisios.
I'd had not a great week, so I was wiped when all was said and done between work and other stuffs.
I started to object and make excuses. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?
I caught myself....I said who am I to deny you spontaneity, or myself for that matter.
Grasshopper learned well....he surely did.

I still haven't posted pics from the week before, dinner out.
For that matter I still have 239487594321 from Spain left to edit.
I'll get there.

What I've posted are few from this past Sunday.
Blue skies.
Great drive.
Great music.
Great company.
Great food.
What more do I need to say?

I reckon I do have more to say...ha.

Yesterday Catie and George came over.
She walks in and first thing she says is...your family is here! That made me smile.
And I got to thinking about my friends, who have become family. My Minnesota family.
Joshy, Catie and George, and of course Joshy's mom who's not pictured here.
On one hand I can count my immediate life friends who I now call family.
That's what mamma always said...if you can count on one hand...

I gotta stay in the place of grace and gratitude.

One Love. One Peace. Always and all ways.

Looking back on things I dont know why I ever planned anything, they never worked out the way they were suppose to in my mind. If they had I would be kicking back on my sailboat off the coast of Belize with a fly rod in one hand and an icy cold drink in the other... but I digress...

It will be fun next week, surprises abound with only the essentials being planned, everything else is a free for all, something I have learned to embrace.

I have found friends to be the best because they accept us for who we are, they have no obligation to be around us and so when they choose to be they are showing how they truly feel, that we are worth their time and effort, bringing them something they want.

This is the grasshopper signing off.

Ah young grasshopper, things rarely work out the way we plan them....

I'm so excited I can't even tell you, gives me something to look forward to.
Damn your working out on a Saturday night, you ruined my plan to gin you and get it out of you, the surprise again not the gin.
