Isn't that the cutest puppy you ever saw? His name is Boston.
I got to meet him a week or so ago. He's smart too.
Labor day weekend has me otherwise occupied,
in all the best ways, starting tomorrow.
So no posts from me for a little while.
Wishing you all a safe and wonderful holiday weekend~!

On the Subject of Transformation
"Learning to pause is the first step toward transformation and healing.
We pause by stopping what we're doing—
we stop blaming, withdrawing,
obsessing, distracting ourselves.
In the space a pause creates,
our natural awareness arises,
allowing us to be mindful,
to recognize what is
happening inside us without judgment.
By pausing, we begin to dismantle lifelong patterns of avoiding or distancing."

On the Subject of Purpose
We all possess the thunder of pure fury and the calm breeze of tranquility.
If it wasn't for tomorrow, how much would we get done today?
Whatever your purpose... embrace it completely.
Get lost in the clouds every now and then so you never lose sight of God's wonder.
~Paul Vitale

each hue paints a chapter ... for which 'the eye' captures...an artistry of The Unknown.."

On The Subject of Personal Accountability
“The best day of your life
is the one on which you decide your life is your own.
No apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on, or blame.
The gift of life is yours; it is an amazing journey; and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. ”
-Dan Zadra

On The Subject of Forward Movement
"You can do no good, make no progress, nor be authentically happy...
until you take care of yourself within.
Take it from me, I've learned the hard way.
Life is a continuous, daily journey...a road that has 'no outlet'...
just a lot of forks...and when the right turn is taken..another one follows...
and yet another, and so on. Even with bumps along the way...
it is a great and powerful feeling...knowing the ride out on an open highway,
can be one of spiritual freedom and ever lasting happiness!
But ...
It must ...
Begin with you ..."

Martha Graham
There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening
That is translated through you into action,
And because there is only one of you in all time,
This expression is unique.
And if you block it,
It will never exist through any other medium
And be lost.
The world will not have it.
It is not your business to determine how good it is:
Nor how valuable it is: nor how it compares with other expressions.
It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly,
To keep the channel open.
You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work.
You have to keep open and aware directly
To the urges that motivate you.
Keep the channel open.
No artist is ever pleased
There is no satisfaction whatever at any time.
There is only a queer, divine satisfaction,
A blessed unrest that keeps us marching
And makes us more alive than the others

I've been a little ...
absent.
or perhaps I should say present.
Absent from this place
But very present in real time.
On days when the rain keeps me inside ...
I'm working on a new project.
She's still in the baby steps,
but I feel comfortable sharing the link.
You can also find us on Facebook.

Love ...
is the only gift
I know to send you, on this very special day.
you have always trusted me with your heart,
I will always keep that trust and keep you safe.

About Me

- Kathleen Bade
- Minnesota, United States
- Photography for me, has always been about telling the story, one I do without words. In any story there is a beginning a middle and an end. There are those rare moments when you get all three in one shot. And you know it when you shoot it. You just do, you can feel it. Then there are stories that demand more. Pieces of the whole. It's a phrase I use often. It's the only way I know how to define my work. They say we are more than the sum of our parts, philosophical speaking I suppose that's true. But...when it comes to telling a story, it has everything to do with the parts. It doesn't matter if it's a wedding, or a lake shot, or a food image. It's still all about the details, and the details are in the details. All I want to do is tell the story. Photographs... say everything I cannot. They not only tell the subjects story, they also tell my own. kathleenbade@copyright2000-2013 All images and content are under copyright and may not be used without my written permission.
